X lost part of his "nose" in a sword duel against fellow Danish nobleman Manderup Parsberg. X had earlier quarrelled with Parsbjerg over the legitimacy of a mathematical formula, at a wedding dance at professor Lucas Bachmeister's house. Since neither had the resources to prove the other wrong, they ended up resolving the issue with a duel. Though the two later reconciled, the duel two days later, resulted in X losing the bridge of his nose. From this event X  became interested in medicine and alchemy. For the rest of his life, he was said to have worn a replacement made of silver and gold, using a paste or glue to keep it attached. Nonetheless, after chemically analyzing "a small bone sample from the nose" from the body exhumed in 2010, reported the prosthetic was "made out of brass". Identify X.

• X was used by some early NASA manned space flights. In 1962, when Mercury astronaut John Glenn conducted eating experiments in orbit, X was selected for the menu, and was also used during some Gemini flights. In 2013, Buzz Aldrin stated that "X sucks".   
• X can be mixed with "Jim Beam" bourbon to make a cocktail called "Moon Beam". 
• A household tip says X is an excellent dishwasher cleaning agent due to its high citric acid content. 
• At one time, Philadelphia authorities attempted to deter addicts from misusing doses of methadone by packaging it in combination with X; this was carried out under the reasoning that nobody would be foolish enough to intravenously inject the combination, but apparently someone was.   
• X was a component of the liquid explosive allegedly intended for use in the 2006 transatlantic aircraft plot (along with hydrogen peroxide and Hexamine), to produce HMTD, an explosive compound.

X founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which is becoming an increasingly prominent and influential organization today. In 1985, X was awarded the National Medal of Technology - the US's highest honor for innovators and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, 2000. X is the founder of "Wheels of Zeus", which incorporates GPS technology and computers. X enrolled as "Rocky Raccoon Clark" and completed his undergraduate course in Electrical Engineering from Berkeley. Rocky was his dog's name and clark is his wife's maiden name. Identify X.

The veil which covers her cold and austere face is held up by the Genius of _______.  The inscribed  words are taken from Virgil's "Aeneid" and it reads "Inventas vitam juvat excoluisse per artes" meaning "And they who bettered life on earth by their newly found mastery." What is X?
